Please note the two short videos on this page that describe how custom photo books can showcase the people and places in your life.
Thanks to modern technology you can now publish a single copy of a book that looks like it came from any of the major publishing companies. The challenge is to choose the theme for your first one!
You can feature a person, a whole family, an event, the objects in a collection, a project such as restoring a classic car, or many other themes. The only limit is your imagination.
These are some things to consider as you ponder the possibilities.
- What is the subject of the book?
- What is the scope? For example, it might be a child’s first year of life, or a son or daughter’s four years of college. You might include the whole sweep of a person’s life as a grand biography to be enjoyed by future generations.
- Do you want to include photos from your collection, or do you want all new photos taken professionally?
- Do you want to include text, and if so, what is the source of the text? It might come from interviews, for example, or posts from your blog, or family correspondence.
- How much do you want to be involved in the design of the book?
- Are you involving other family members in making decisions about the book?
- How many locations will be involved for photography and interviews, and where are they?
- Do you have an expectation about when you would like the book to be finished?
- Is your schedule relatively open or relatively packed?
- Do you have any other ideas not mentioned in this list?
Consider these points in order to plan the book project. I can assist with all of these activities, so let’s sit and discuss your project when you are ready! Send me an email.
